Executive Coaching Programme

welcome

Welcome to the Programme

Wexford County Council is making available an Executive Coaching panel to the Senior Management Team within the organisation. This initiative is intended to provide professional development support to the senior team through a confidential space with a coach outside of the organisation.

The coaching conversation is confidential, client centred, future focused and action orientated.

Process

How it works

1

Review Coach Profiles

A number of coaches have been assigned to this coaching panel. You can see their overview here on this page.

2

Meet a Coach

Arrange a short chemistry call before starting your sessions to be sure this is a good fit (if necessary, you can meet up to 3 coaches before deciding).

3

Select your Coach

Confirm with your coach that you would like to proceed with the sessions.

4

Schedule your Sessions

6 x 90 minute Coaching Sessions, schedule decided between the coach and coachee and at intervals which make sense for the topic/coachee.

To facilitate all working arrangements, coaching sessions are delivered over the preferred video platform of the client (e.g. Webex, MS Teams, Zoom).
Coaching Relationship

To make the best of the coaching relationship, here are some things to be aware of;

Timekeeping

We understand that some things are beyond our control and it will impact our time keeping. However, to ensure you get the most from the session with your coach, give yourself some time before and after the session to clear your mind or to reflect on insights or actions you would like to take. Try to avoid back to back meetings in your calendar.

Preparing for the Session

To prepare for the session it will be helpful to read through any internal documents relating to your chosen topic for coaching e.g. leadership model, organisation values, corporate planning documents. Try to do this a few days before the scheduled session so you have time to unconsciously process it.

Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule your session please do so by email at least 72 hours before the session was due to take place.

Taking Notes

We encourage you to take notes before, during and after your session. It is helpful to have a separate notebook to capture ideas during the session and then use that space afterwards to continue into the future with the thinking you started with your coach.

Confidentiality

Coaching is about high quality thinking time, away from the busy-ness of the daily whirlwind. Wexford County Council and Kingstown College are keen to ensure that you have a safe space to explore your own thinking, growth and development. For that reason, the content of your session will be confidential.

Your Virtual Coaching Space

Creating the perfect Virtual coaching space is easy when you know how. We recommend that you are in a room on your own, where you can speak freely, and you are unlikely to be interrupted.

Device Notifications

We also recommend that you disable notifications on your device during the session. The more you protect this time with your coach, the more you will gain from the thinking space.
