Key Information

Frequently Asked Questions

Find clear answers to common questions about the course, structure, and what to expect.

Is this live or on-demand?

It’s a combination of both. You get on-demand modules (short lessons) and you can attend live class that runs monthly to support application, Q&A, and case discussion.

How long do I have access?

You receive 12 months’ access from enrolment.

How long does the course take to complete?

The course is modular and flexible. Many learners choose to pace it over several months to apply what they learn, but you can complete it at any pace within your 12-month access window. If you are part of an in-house cohort in your organisation, the pace may be suggested as weekly, monthly etc.

How much time should I plan per module?

Plan for around 3 hours per module:

  • ~1 hour video lessons
  • ~1 hour live class
  • ~1 hour quiz + short reflection
Who is this course for?

It’s designed for managers, team leads, senior individual contributors, project/programme leads, and aspiring leaders across public, private, and non-profit sectors—especially anyone leading people, meetings, decisions, or change.

Do I need a psychology background to take this?

No. The programme translates leadership psychology into plain language and practical tools, so it’s accessible for busy leaders without prior study.

Do I need to take personality tests?

No. Personality insights are taught in a practical and ethical way. It can be helpful if you have awareness of, or have taken, assessments like DiSC, MBTI or EQi, but it is not a pre-requisite.

What certification do I receive?

On successful completion of the course requirements (module content, MCQs, and the reflective assignment), you will receive the Professional Certificate in Leadership Psychology awarded by Kingstown College. This is a professional education certificate and is not on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

How is learning assessed?

Each module includes an Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) knowledge check and a short reflection focused on applying the ideas to your real leadership context. (In organisation cohorts, written reflection can be replaced by a 1-day application workshop.)

What makes this different from other leadership courses?

This is a psychology-informed leadership programme designed for practical application. It combines:

  • an integrated pathway (self → systems → personality → AI → change → coaching → performance → presence)
  • monthly live classes for application and Q&A
  • practical tools and insights you can use immediately
Can my organisation use this as an in-house leadership programme?

Yes. Organisations can use this as a scalable learning foundation with tiered cohorts (self-paced pathway for junior roles; workshop pathway for senior cohorts) and organisation-specific casework. Talk to us about your ambitions for your organisation and we can suggest how to structure it.

Will we get reporting if we run this as a company cohort?

Yes. For cohorts we can support reporting on completion, progress by module, and assessment completion (plus workshop attendance where applicable).

Is this course suitable as management training for new managers?

Yes. It works well as management training for new managers because it builds practical foundations: self-awareness under pressure, clear expectations, feedback, coaching-style 1:1s, and team performance habits. It’s also useful for experienced managers who want a modern, psychology-informed toolkit.

Does the course cover AI for managers and responsible AI leadership?

Yes. The AI Ready Leadership module is designed for managers and leaders who need to use AI responsibly at work. It covers practical governance, judgment, risk boundaries (“no-go zones”), accountability, and how to guide safe, strategic experimentation in teams. It is not a training course on the use of AI tools, but rather a leadership lens that will influence the use and oversight of all AI tools and supports.

What will I be able to do differently after completing the certificate?

You’ll be able to apply practical tools to real leadership situations: handle difficult conversations earlier and more confidently, set clearer expectations and accountability, diagnose whether issues are people/role/system problems, lead change with less resistance, use AI with stronger judgment and guardrails, and communicate with greater credibility and presence under pressure.
