QQI Level 6 – Professional Coaching Practice and Ethics
Based on the competencies of EMCC and ICF, this course ensures that graduates will have an awareness of international best practice, and how to align with any broader coaching strategies of the organisation.
Coaching is a way to have a skilled conversation without being the expert. It’s about helping the other person to think out loud, consider possible options and choose a positive way forward.
Who is this course for
Anyone involved in helping colleagues grow, improve and thrive in the organisation will benefit from this course.
This course is not just for managers, leaders and supervisors. These skills will help you in your role as a supervisor, or as someone interacting with the public, or in how you support people you work with.

Teaching Methodology
Course delivery will be highly interactive, combining lecture style, discussion, breakout rooms, skills practice, demonstrations. Classes are facilitated on Zoom and participants will be required to have camera on and microphone available to interact.
Course Delivery
- 6 Days
- One day every second week (2 class options to choose from on registration)
- 10am – 4pm
- Live virtual classroom hosted on Zoom
- We recommend 1 Day study leave for course work, which will be agreed with your Local Authority
Assessment / Course Work
Participants will be required to complete a number of assessments and course assignments. These include
Note – Assignment submission date is a number of weeks after the final class date. Exact date will be on your class schedule
- Reading – Read and review one course book
- Coaching – Complete 4 coaching sessions as a coach and 4 sessions as a client with another course participant
- Essay – Submit a 2000 word reflective essay
- Performance Evaluation – A 30 minute recorded coaching session with another course participant, facilitated by Kingstown College
