Core Competencies of Coaching
Learners will develop listening and questioning skills, and begin to use tools like GROW and the Wheel. ICF and EMCC competencies are introduced, and we differentiate coaching, mentoring and other interventions.
Understanding the Individual
Values, transference and self-awareness are important for coach and coachee. We also introduce Appreciative Inquiry, the SOAR model, and look at Goal Setting in the context of the individual.
The Psychology of Coaching
Learners will be introduced to schools of thought and common terms in psychology. An emphasis is placed on the more recent work in Positive Psychology, Flow and a Strengths Based approach to coaching.
Recovery and Resilience
Enhancing the learner’s understanding of Mental Health and Wellbeing and how Coaching as an intervention can contribute, focusing particularly on Resilience Coaching, the Recovery to Discovery Model, and the POWER Model.
Workplace Focus
Examining how mental health challenges can present in the workplace and how to use a coaching dialogue to host vulnerable conversations. We also look at conflict, cognitive behaviour coaching and considerations around a return to work.
Career Coaching and Wellbeing
Life Coaches and Executive Coaches will benefit from tools which focus on career planning and development. We examine wellbeing challenges such as bullying and stress, and introduce supervision and the continuing development of the coach.
