Sam Argent
Sam is an ICF accredited Executive and Life Coach and a member of the Kingstown College faculty where she delivers coaching and mentoring programmes, provides mentor coaching and leads on the assessment of training programmes. Sam is passionate about coaching for resilience as it is an essential ingredient for us to thrive personally and professionally.
With an MSc in Personal and Management Coaching, Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation with the ICF and further CPD in coaching for resilience, Sam is committed to maintaining and adding to her skills and knowledge for the benefit of her clients and mentor coaches. Sam is also experienced in using the EQ-i emotional intelligence tool, supporting clients to improve their emotional and social skills that determine how they perceive and express themselves, understand others and relate to them, and cope with challenges.
Sam brings experience, empathy and compassion to her coaching, supporting her clients’ learning and challenging their existing beliefs to enable them to develop the right mindset, overcome real and imagined obstacles to achievement and create better, fulfilling lives. Her approach combines positive psychology, cognitive behavioural coaching and mindfulness.
As well as one-to-one coaching, Sam also has experience of group coaching. She has been a group coach on the Common Purpose Leadership Programmes in Ireland and the Professional Women’s Network Global Virtual Entrepreneurship Programme.
Sam has over three decades of experience in communication and branding, working with many different businesses and organisations globally, helping them to find their voice, communicate their purpose and achieve their business objectives. She has worked at director level in agencies with corporate and SME clients, led teams in public sector organisations and consulted independently. This background adds a depth of business and culture knowledge to her work with clients.
A senior role leading and motivating her team, and the wider public sector organisation, through a transformational change programme became the catalyst for her future career as a coach, helping people to develop and thrive through change.
Outside of the coaching arena Sam has a passion for sailing both on modern yachts for fun and old tall ships where she is a volunteer mentor for Sail Training Ireland for Youth Development. A runner and a novice sea swimmer, Sam recharges her own energy outdoors and is a great fan of the rediscovery of Ireland’s sea sauna tradition.
